Flight 800 by Dan Fulani
When special agent Pius Shale is approached by the outrageous Mrs. Queen to help her trace her husband who has disappeared after his involvement with sinister religious fanatics, he has little idea of just how dangerous the assignment will become. Narrowly escaping a carefully-planned murder on the Ibadan-Lagos Expressway, he is subsequently kidnapped and drugged. But Flight 800 from Lagos to London involves him in even greater danger and only his skill in detection enables him to survive and expose the true purpose of the religious fanatics.
An Image of Africa by Chinua Achebe
A collection of essays by one of Africa's best-known writers. 'An Image of Africa' asserts Achebe's belief in Joseph Conrad as a 'bloody racist' whose novel 'Heart of Darkness' perpetuates damaging stereotypes of black people. In 'The Trouble With Nigeria', Achebe delivers a searing outpouring of his frustrations with his country.
Jaja of Opobo: The Slave Who Became a King by JE Alagoa
This book tells the life story of Jaja of Opobo, who rose from being old into slavery at the age of 12 to lead his own kingdom.
