The second reading programme of the year took place on the 16th of February, 2016 at the community library between 26 students from Ilado Community Senior High school and Akande Dahunsi Memorial Senior High School, both in Osborne road, Ikoyi.

The first reading programme for the year was held on the 12th of February, 2016 at the community library, between 26 students from Ilado Community Junior High School, Osborne road and Akande Dahunsi Memorial Junior Secondary School, Osborne road. ‘No place to play’ by Sarah Kovatch was the book discussed and is about a boy named David who loved skateboarding but had no place to skate so he and his friends created their own skate park.
The 19th of November 2015 was a special day for me as I took the place of the Author to discuss the book Lonely orphan girl –the story of Nellie Bly with twenty-six students of Government Junior College Maroko and Wahab Folawiyo Junior high School.
The students of Girls Senior Grammar school and Ireti Senior Grammar School had a swell time with the guest Raimat Ali who volunteered to discuss the book –looking deeper with them. The program which took place on Wednesday 25th of November, 2015 started at 10am with an opening prayer which was led by Emmanuella Iwara a female student of Ireti Senior Grammar School. The students and staff then introduced themselves after which Raimat started the discussion.
The student of Government senior college Maroko (GSCM) & Government senior college Ikoyi (GSCI) had a wonderful time discussing the book “Protecting Ideals’’ with Ayoola Shobamiwa the assistant IT manager of the organization.
Holiday programmes are organized to keep pupils and students busy all the weeks that their schools are on break. Some children want to read and prepare for the next session, some want to travel and spend time with friends and relations while others want to spend time in a library.
