Gaspard Lihouenou Koutchika is a Professional Photographer from Republic of Benin but is based in Nigeria Lagos State.
He started photography in 2008 and he got married in 2015 to a Nigerian woman from Eastern part of Nigeria.
Gaspard came to Nigeria at age of 9 and he continued his education. He is a certified he computer engineer, 2D Graphics Designer and networking & Vsat.
He is the last Child of his parents, Mr & Mrs Koutchika. His brothers and sisters and they all live and work in the Republic of Benin. Mr Gaspard enjoy listening to Gospel music because he loves God.
Gaspard is a photographer with a difference and he is passionate about travel and Documentary Photography he does events and corporate photography occasionally.
He passion moved him to resigned from his day job to do photography fully. Trained as a hardware engineer and graphic designer in Dubai. He has worked as a trainer for many blue chip companies in Nigeria.
In 2015, he took part in the Etisalat photography competition organized by the African Artists Foundation and was the first runner-up in the food category.
He won the first position in the Environmental awareness photo competition 2016.He also won Earthsfolks Ambassador Award 2016.
Gaspard has attended many workshops, conferences and seminars. He was contacted to be the only official photographer of NIPHEC 2016,and was the official videographer for Nikon Summit conference in 2016
He has intensively followed the footsteps of his mentor "Bayo Omoboriowo" official photographer to President Muhammadu Buhari, by learning how street photography and documentary photography is done, Bayo's biggest photo walk was done in the year 2014 which attracted hundreds of photographers who came in from around Nigeria states for a day photo walk tagged: PHOTOGRAPH A CHILD where each photographers is assigned a child to run a documentary on and Gaspard took part in the walk.
His best image of the walk won second runner up the ETISALAT PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION in 2015.
Gaspard love and passion for photography and everyday lifestyle African, heritage and culture prompted him to introduce photo walk to focus on daily activities around African Countries,
From February 2014 till date Gaspard has organised numerous photowalk Free and paid amongst are (photograph session with Gaspard season 1,2 and later changed to Porto-novo photowalk February 2016 and Ouidah Photowalk August 2016, Badagry Photowalk January 2016, Badagry Photowalk May 2016, Makoko Bariga Tagged #mokokosmile 27th of May, 2016 to mark Children's day and he also participated in Nikon photo contest November 2015 and June 2016 and his image was among the top 15, he never stop learning he took part in the Beyond Image writing Workshop July 2016, organised by Nlele Institute Lagos, Nigeria.
To achieve his mission which is documenting Everyday Lifestyle of Africans this lead him to travel around Nigeria and Republic Du Benin and Ghana.
Monitoring the everyday lifestyle of Africans drove him to start everyday Street to street walk and one of the street photograph won the Earthsfolks Competition and same photograph won Earthsfolks Ambassador 2016 Award.
He is currently working on some projects The Ghost, The Making, ASHIA, Early Morning Activities Africa they are all a continues body of works.
His love towards others he created a photography group on WhatsApp and Facebook called "Photography Chat Room" where learning goes on 24/7.
He has attended other photowalk around Nigeria (Made in Ibadan 2015, Ifo photowalk 2015) he remain the only photographer in West Africa who organized a pay photowalk but in Nigeria and outside Nigeria, haven't say that Gaspard was appointed XDS Solutions Ambassador in May 2016.
And the recent photowalk that took place in Lagos State of Nigeria was host by him is tagged HstreetMeetLA HstreetMeetNigeria this is one of his international recognition photowalk the idea for behind the the photowalk is to bring together all the documentary and passionate photographers around the work in one platform which is through the Harsh tags on social medias.
