10 Things you should know about Ex-Taraba governor, Danbaba Suntai.

  • Danbaba Danfulani Suntai was born on June 30, 1961,
  • He attended Federal Government College, Kano between 1975 and 1980, as well as the School of Basic Studies at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria between 1980 to 1981.
  • In 1984, he graduated as a Pharmacist from Ahmadu Bello University.
  • He was the director-general of the state ministry of Agriculture and National Resources from 1994 to 1996.
  • Danbaba was Chairman of Taraba State Investment and Properties Ltd in 2000.
  • In 2001, He was appointed commissioner for Education.
  • Suntai worked at the ministry of Health from 2003 to 2005 before becoming Secretary to the Taraba State Government from 2005 and 2007.
  • During his tenure as governor of Taraba State, Danbaba made efforts to fight corruption, crime, and also provided funds to the local government areas.
  • In November 2009, Danbaba Suntai commissioned a N540 million computerized stone-crushing and asphalt plant to provide road building materials.
  • He was the Governor of Taraba State.
  • His administration was strongly behind both the Christian and Islamic faiths since both religions teach peace, love and unity.
  • Danbaba Suntai, survived an air crash at the Yola Airport in 2012.
  • He died on 28th June 2017, aged 56.
