A lot of People have argued for and against the effect of Television, that is not in the time spent viewing but the content of what is viewed. 

For so long, TV has been blamed for declining academic performances and growth. Therefore, parents should encourage kids to watch quality, educational programming.

Television has a lot of benefits; It relays information, a medium of entertainment. The only problem is that children spend more time watching Television than socializing and studying.

One way in which TV is harmful is that is that it lures the child to avoid doing homework, creative play, reading or doing homework. 

Effect of Television on Brain Development

Too much television can disrupt the development of an infant brain. At this stage, the children play, engage with family members.

Effect of Television on Preschoolers

Preschool children may benefit from television viewing may actually benefit their grades as it would help them in language learning. When provided with educational programs, they do well.

Educational and informative shows can benefit students when watched at the right time.

 

Developing good TV habits

Having Good TV habit helps improve relationships with friends, academic performance, and overall wellbeing of a child. A parent or guardian has to teach the children to watch television in Moderation.

  • Set a TV time by putting boundaries in place.
  • Make it a family social Activity: TV can be restricted to weekends with all the family members, just like family bonding time.
  • Restrict the hours spent on watching Television.
