ZODML Commissions Prison Libraries in Nnewi and Ekwulobia

Zaccheus Onumba Dibiaezue Memorial Libraries continues its initiative to extend its libraries to the Nigerian Prison Services by establishing libraries in all prisons in Anambra State.

The simultaneous commissioning of Nnewi and Ekwulobia prisons was done on the 4th of October 2017, by the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS) Alhaji Ja’afaru Ahmed, represented by the Assistant Comptroller-General in charge of Zone G, Mohammed Danladi Nata’alla. He said the libraries would help in changing the mindset of the inmates.

The inmates were very excited and pledged to engage in library to improve their education and enhance their skills.

The CEO of ZODML, Mrs Ego Mbagwu, said that the aim of establishing libraries in prisons across the country is to encourage the reformation process and rehabilitation of the prison inmates.

The materials provided in the libraries ranged from textbooks, research books, reference books, fiction, non-fiction and magazines.
