Zaccheus Onumba Dibiaezue Memorial Libraries recently launched new Prison Libraries, in Ile-ife, Osun state and also in Oyo and Agodi both in Oyo state.

The libraries were simultaneously commissioned on 20th of September 2018 by Comptroller General of Prisons Alhaji Ja’afaru Ahmed.

In attendance was a member of the BOT of ZODML Ayo Obe Esq, CEO ZODML Ms Ego Mbagwu, the ACP of Ile-Ife Prison, the DCP of Oyo Prison, ACG zone F Mr. K.O Yusuf, CP Oyo state command Mr. Tosin Akinrujomu, and the DCP Agodi Prison.

The ACG in his speech said, “In the course of my familiarization visit to all the Prisons under zone ‘F’, I was able to personally access the library facilities and saw they are conducive for sound academic enterprise.  I hereby implore all the inmates to make effective use of the library".

In line with our vision, which is a Nigeria, in which everyone has the ability to educate themselves through self-development; we set up free libraries for those who do not have access to books, particularly in public institutions like prisons and schools.

These libraries provide inmates with learning tools and resources, ranging from textbooks to reference books, for those preparing for examinations; and non-academic books and magazines, to keep them entertained and educated.

The inmates were very happy to have a new library and were hopeful for better days.
