Carmen Ejogo

Carmen Elizabeth Ejogo was born 22 October 1973. She is an actress and singer. Her father, Charles Ejogo is Nigerian and her mother is Scottish. She was raised in London, attended the Oratory Roman Catholic Primary School and Glendower Preparatory School before she moved on to Godolphin and Latymer School.

She began her career as a teenager hosting the Saturday Disney morning show from 1993 to 1995.

Ejogo is a brilliant actress and has featured in lot of movies Love's Labour's Lost (2000), What's the Worst That Could Happen? (2001), Away We Go (2009), Sparkle (2012), Alex Cross (2012), The Purge: Anarchy (2014), It Comes at Night (2017) and others.

Carmen has also been involved in the music industry and has collaborated with several artists since the 1990s. She presented The Carmen Ejogo Video Show, her own video show on BSB's Power Station channel.

She wrote and sang lead vocals on the song "Candles" by English drum 'n' bass DJ Alex Reece. She also sang ‘Slowly’ a duet Tricky on a song called "Slowly". The vocals for the film Love's Labour's Lost (2000) was also done by Carmen.

Ejogo sang the four songs of the movie titled Sparkle including the original soundtrack, with Jordin Sparks and Tika Sumpter singing backup on "Jump", "Hooked on Your Love" and "Something He Can Feel". 

She was initially married to Trip-hop artist but in 2000, she married American actor Jeffrey Wright, who she met while during the making of the HBO movie Boycott. They have a son and a daughter. Ejogo and Wright have since divorced.

She currently lives in New York.
