Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald (better known as F. Scott Fitzgerald), American author of novels and short stories, was born on this day in 1896. Fitzgerald is best known for his book, The Great Gatsby, which was made into a big-budget movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Fitzgerald was especially well known for his short stories. One of the most notable ones is The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which was also made into a movie starring Brad Pitt. Fitzgerald died on December 21, 1940.
