Combining indigenous and contemporary architecture the Emir's palaces in Kazaura, Ringim, Gumel, Dutse and Hadejia are worth visiting.
Located in the south of Jigawa State Birnin Kudu is known for its rock paintings in Dutsen Mesa, Dutsen Habude, Dutsen Murufu and Dutsen Zango. The paintings are the oldest in Nigeria.
This is a bird sanctuary located within the Hadejia wetlands at Baturiya, Kiri Kassama and Gumi LGAs. It covers an area of 320 square kilometres. The sanctuary houses over three hundred and seventy-eight species of migratory birds mostly from Europe. It is internationally noted and visited by conservationists. It attracts between 1,500 and 2,000 tourists yearly from around the world.
This is notably the largest tract of wetland in Nigeria. It covers an area of 4,125 kilometres. The Nguru Lake is part of the wetland. The wetland is supplied by the Hadejia and Jama’are rivers. The Hadejia Wetlands also has the Baturiya Games Reserve and Baturiya Bird Sanctuary located within its expansive vicinity.
This is located in Kazaure LGA. The lake provides a holiday resort that offers water sport activities like boating, fishing, golfing and other recreational activities.
Located in Auyo town in Hadejia emirates, Shadai is a pool famous for its healing powers. Legend has it that a disabled or handicapped person who drinks the water from the pool will be miraculously healed.
