Eighteen (18) year old Bola Savage discussed her newly released book–Untwisted Fate with fourteen students, aged 9–12 from Dodan Barracks Primary School and Government College School Ikoyi on Thursday the 5th of February 2015 at ZODML Community Library. Prior to the guest’s arrival, Nkechi Nkechinyere –ZODML’s Chief Librarian, took the students on a tour of the library.
On her arrival, the session kicked off with an opening prayer by Covenant Dominic of Dodan Primary School. In preparation for the event, the students were asked to read her book–Untwisted Fate. She asked the participants questions about the characters and moral lessons of the book and the responses for the latter included wickedness, jealousy, patience, contentment, gratefulness and sincerity to mention a few. The students in turn asked the author questions about her days in school, the inspiration and challenges she faced as a writer as well as the process of writing a book.
Bola read out her favourite parts (page 32-39) which teaches the value of patience. She rewarded the three students who impressed her during the question-and-answer session – Hadiza Ismail of Dodan Barracks Primary School, Elizabeth Kinge and Idowu Joshua of Government Junior College Ikoyi. ZODML also rewarded all the paticipants with gifts which include a ZODML t-shirt and a novel from The American Girl Collection Series.
